Daylight Saving Time 2014: March 9th, 2014- Set Clock 1hr Ahead

Twice each year this controversial practice gives rise to various questions: Why do we spring forward and fall back? Does daylight saving time (DST) really save energy? Is it bad for your health? There is no consensus, but experts do offer some answers.

Quarter 3 Reward Celebrations
Congratulations to our students for working so hard this third nine weeks! Your child's 3rd Quarter Reward Celebration will be held at Ft. Campbell on one of the following days:
Weds, March 19th - 6th Grade
Thurs, March 20th - 7th Grade
Fri, March 21st - 8th Grade
Students will bring home two forms on Wednesday, March 5th. Please read BOTH forms and complete the white signature page. Your child needs to read and sign the gold form. The Homeroom Teacher will serve as the "witness" on the gold form, but we wanted parents to read the form prior to our students' signing it. Send BOTH forms back to your child's HOMEROOM Teacher NO LATER THAN Friday, March 7th.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS for Q3 REWARD DAY:

• Not more than 10 discipline points earned during Quarter 3
• 100% Work Completed and Turned In NO LATER THAN Friday, March 7th (Check PowerSchool for missing assignments)
• Permission Slips Turned in NO LATER THAN Friday, March 7th (both are attached to this email)
• Appropriate footwear and dress on day of event (described on permission slip)

RHS Interest Meeting for Incoming Freshmen: (3/12/2014)

RMS Theatre Dept Presents: Fantastical Friends

FANTASTICAL FRIENDS

Synopsis: When Fred is forced to go to the library to do a report, he meets the Book Master, a magical character who

introduces him to some of the most popular fictional characters ever created. Before his eyes, sections from several great books are acted out. You can choose whichever 6 to 8 scenes of the 9 included to comprise a full evening's entertainment. Scenes include "The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn" and "Little Women" (Americana); "Jane Eyre" (Gothic); "Dracula" and "The Monkey's Paw" (horror); "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" and "A Thousand and One Arabian Nights" (fantasy); "Great Expectations" (British); and "The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes" (detective). Your audience, like Fred, cannot help but become involved with the fantastical (fantastic + magical) friends who'll spring to life on stage.

Tickets will be $3.00 at the door.

PTO selling concessions and spirit wear from 5:15pm to 7:30pm in the Hawk Hut

Valentines Day Dance: 2/13/14

RMS will be hosting the Valentines Day Dance at RMS Gym on Thursday, 2/13/14 from 4:30PM to

6:30PM.

CMCSS Basketball Finals: RMS vs. NEMS at WCMS on 1/30/2014 at 6PM

The CMCSS District Championship for 2013-2014 Basketball Season is on  1/30/2014 at West Creek Middle School between our own RMS Hawks vs. Northeast Middle School. Game starts at 6:00PM. Come and support your Rossview Hawks.

CMCSS District Middle School Basketball Tournament (Boys)

Rossview Middle School invites the community out to cheer on the Rossview Hawks in the CMCSS competing in this tournament to determine the district champion. The Tournament will be hosted at

West Creek Middle School this year. Games for the boys start on 1/23/2014.
