JumpStart (Summer 2014)

Jump Start for 6th Graders Information:


What is it? A program designed to prepare your child for middle school procedures, policies and programs.

Registration Times
o   July 22 8am to 11am: Last Names Begin with A & B,
o   11:30am-2:30 pm: Last Names Begin with C & D, 
o   3:00pm to 6pm: Last Names Begin with E thru H,

o   July 23 8am-11am: Last Names Begin with I thru M
o   10:30am-2:30pm: Last Names Begin with N thru S

o   July 24: 8am to 11AM: Last Names Begin with T thru Z,

Parent Information Session: July 24th at 6:30PM
o   Please email tami.lightner@cmcss.net to sign-up a 6th Grader for a Jump Start Session.

  • Dress Code: Casual/Semi-Formal

The Facility and Staff at RMS wants to invite all parents to attend our annual Awards Ceremony.
Rossview Middle School has a population of very talented students.  It is our effort to recognize that talent through several key programs.

The Hawks Basketball Camp is an opportunity for young men to improve themselves as players and teammates.  Working with an experienced coaching staff, campers have the opportunity to develop a solid foundation in skill and motivation.



The teaching progression at the camp takes age and skill differences into account.  The staff’s goal is to help each camper develop proper habits on and off the basketball court.

APSU Summer Leadership Camp for Girls

APSU will host a leadership camp for girls June 23-27. This day camp is open to girls who will be in the 6th, 7th, or 8th grade in the fall, and is designed to meet the interests, capabilities, and opportunities of girls by giving them the self-confidence and skills they need to be successful at this important stage in their lives. Cost is $125 and covers all food and programing for the week.

RMS Spring Concerts May 13th & May 15th

Our Spring Concerts will be on two nights.  
On Tuesday May 13th, the 7th and 8th
Bands will perform.  The 7th Grade band should arrive at 6pm.  They will begin the performance at 6:30.  The 8th Grade Band will begin at approximately 7:15pm. On Thursday, May 15th,  the  6th Grade, Symphonic, and Jazz Bands will play.  The 6th Grade Band will need to arrive at 6pm.  The concert will begin at 6:30.  The Symphonic Band will begin at approximately 7:15pm. The Jazz Band will begin shortly after the Symphonic concert is over. In this way the concerts will not run too long, making it more enjoyable for everyone.
         We are switching our concert attire for the 6th & 8th grade this year.  The they  will be expected to wear a dress black shirt that tucks into dress black slacks, black socks, and solid black shoes.  The 7th grade will wear the same attire as last year.  Dress white shirt that tucks into your dress black slacks, black socks, solid black shoes.  No dresses or skirts of any kind are allowed.  (see band handbook) 
         The concert performance counts as a performance grade.  Attendance is expected.  Those who have an excused absence   from the performance may make up the grade by writing a 5 paragraph report on a famous composer, or by recording themselves performing the concert music and submitting it to Mr. Ansberry for grading.  (see grading procedures in band handbook)
